Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Skyward Productions is committed to making Skyward.org accessible and usable for as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. I want visitors to explore my books, music, writing, and other work without unnecessary barriers.

The standard I am working toward

I use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as the goal for this site. Skyward.org currently partially conforms to that standard: most of the site meets it, and the known exceptions are listed below.

What the site does to support accessibility

  • Every page has a descriptive title, a single main heading, and headings in a logical order, so screen reader users can move through pages easily.
  • Pages declare their language, so assistive technology reads them correctly.
  • A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users bypass the menu.
  • The site works with a keyboard. The menu can be opened, navigated, and closed with the keyboard, and the focused element is visibly highlighted.
  • Images include text descriptions. For example, book covers are described by title.
  • Form fields on the Contact and Skyward Notes pages have visible labels.
  • Pages adapt to small screens and to browser zoom without requiring sideways scrolling.
  • Audio never plays automatically. Each track uses a standard player with keyboard-accessible controls.
  • The music on this site is instrumental, and each track page includes a written description of the piece.

Known limitations

These are the issues I know about and am working to fix:

  • Music page. On the main Music page, each album cover is a link without a text description. Each cover is followed by a properly labeled link with the track’s title, which leads to the same page.
  • Small text. A few small labels and a photo caption are slightly below the recommended contrast.
  • Links that open a new tab. Links to outside services, such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Amazon, open in a new tab without warning.
  • Email address. To reduce spam, my email address is partly hidden on screen until it is selected. If this causes difficulty, please use the contact form instead.

Other websites

This site links to services I do not control, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon, Facebook, and Instagram. Those companies are responsible for their accessibility.

How this site was reviewed

In October 2026, I checked every page on the site with automated testing, along with manual checks of keyboard navigation, color contrast, and layout on small screens. This was a self-assessment, not an independent audit. I plan to review the site again as it changes.

Tell me about a barrier

If you have trouble using any part of this site, or need something in a different format, please let me know. Email tony@skyward.org or use the contact form. It helps to include the page address and a short description of the problem. I read every message and will do my best to help.
